Ruth,

I do hope the increase in the dose strength of your remicade helps. I do know it was beneficial for me.

You stated you are in severe flare with increase bone pain. Have you tried the MSM? This has worked well for those of us that have tried it-- and continue to use it.

Also, has your MD checked your CBC and Liver enzymes. With the Remicade this is very important- so that if you have any problems with blood counts- lymphatic enzymes going out of whack (ok- it's not medical terminology--but it explains it as well--LOL) and so that if you do develop a problem, they catch it right away (tests needed 1x mo.) and then stop the Remicade.

Also know that if the prednisone is leaching the calcium from your bones-- and we know it is-- then a simple low dose supplement may help tremendously. This is actually the direction I go when the bone pain comes back-- as it seems that if we are deplete (or our body thinks it's starving for calcium- then it deposits it in other organs where it doesn't belong) that my bone pain increases.

I did a post on this earlier--and I tell ya, I swear by Weil, M.D.s theory that if we are deficient in any vitamin or mineral-- we're going to develop illness from that defiency. If you search the ARCHIVES with bone pain or calcium you'll find the post on this.

Take care, and yes, if you don't see improvement next week with additional Remicade, and getting the infusions closer together doesn't help-- you still need to get those eyes checked. We don't yet have eyeball transplants down.

Take care,

Tracie
