Guest guest
The person that emailed Dr. and then detailed their correspondence on this list said, in part: " " Mr Planz, I treat all of my patients the same, celebrities or not. No one, not even the highly educated, extremely motivated DS patient, gets special treatment. " Really? That's hard believe. So you would give the president of the United States or one of your colleagues the benefit of your expertise if he did not wish to go through all the hoops? The psychology tests, the retests, the follow-up tests, the boring and expensive interview with the dietitian, and so on. This sort of adamantine conviction on your part deserves recognition. Still, it does sound a trifle over-the-edge... " I guess I have to say that this only confirms what a caring and decent doctor Emma is. I've NEVER been able to have any kind of a conversation via email with other docs like we do with our bariatric professionals. I consider it amazing. I would have either not answered this person at all or answered with a form reply stating that they weren't taking his case. She was too kind to reply personally, IMHO. I bet this person never says IMHO, BTW, because he apparently doesn't have any humble in him. Yes, perhaps another surgeon won't require anything of you, and just give you your surgery and make you thin. Too bad they can't also operate on some other things, huh. ===== Becki, near Portland, OR BMI 50-ish, age 42 pre-op DS. hoping to get approval through Aetna Traditional Choice (fighting 'investigational' denial) Consulted with Dr. on 3-13-01 psych ok, nutrition ok, beckeye_58@... __________________________________________________
