Guest guest
Tom, I'm glad you resonded to my post...:] You are very informative...please take that as a compliment... I agree with you about some people having complications and/or death, due to their severe obeasity and/or health problems...that cannot be foreseen....but shit happens...example; (unrelated to wls, but surgery) 3 years ago my mother went into Columbia Presbytrian Hosp in Manhattan to have her lungs reduced (due to emphasema) so she could have more breathing capacity. This was " elective " surgery (just like wls). For one full year prior to being " selected " for surgery she had to strenthen her body. She went to the hosp 4 times a week for 1 year. She was determined, healthy in all other areas. She had the surgery..almost died twice and had every possible complication. Was in ICU for 35 days and regular room for 6 days, 41 days total. This past Jan she took a turn for the better and is doing well healthwise and mentally. Prior to that she has been in and out of the hosp and near death. What I am tring to say is that...here is a person that was determined as an bull, healthy (except for lungs), strong immune system (like you pointed out) exercised 4x's a week for one year and still had " complications " .......like I said previously you can do everything..but you just don't know if your going to be that " one " (my russian roulette theroy...) Opinions...opinions......this is the site where opinions are posted...good and bad, that's why I joined....I take no offense to opinions posted (unless they are mean sprited)....someone my point out something that I or anyone else have not thought about or even heard about (like deb, Dr. Ren did not mention her in my email)...I always say 2 heads are better than one...in this case...hundreds.... I am the type of person to get the majoritys opinion before doing something. I loved your thoughts on siting on the fence about the spilinters.......lol and absolultly right. You are also right about Dr. Ren..inexperienced.....hopefully Dr. Gagner will get his staff and hospital staff running smoother ( I live in NY, so my insurance probably would not go for out of state, when there a two or more surgeons that do it here). Dr. Anthone sounds like a great doc....good advise. How did you find out all that info on those docs? I would like to get that info on Dr. Gagner. Tom (and everyone) keep up posting your " opinions " ....they are informative and from the heart... and don't forget to add that comical side...we all need a daily chuckle...
