Guest guest Posted December 28, 2009 Report Share Posted December 28, 2009 I read an article today about a new book called The Belly Fat Cure (comes out Tues). He has a couple of websites w/videos. The 2nd one has Dr. Weil (who I happen to like) and an actor's testimony. It's all about lowering carbs and sugars. He says to eat no more that 15 grams of sugar a day....an apple has 12 grams. The average american today eats about 250 grams of sugar A DAY!! And he promotes eating lots of protein. He's obviously promoting this as a weight loss program, but being a newbie to SCD diet, I found it interesting that he's talking about eating fat versus carbs (he does say french fries are ok...hmmm....maybe I'll switch to his diet ....just kidding). This whole protein thing is just a VERY different way of thinking for me. But I am certainly a believer that it would work for weight loss. I lost 13 lbs in 6 weeks! And I was too thin to begin with because of malabsorption problems....I certainly didn't need to lose the weight.
