Guest guest
Has anyone had a problem where trying to read any posts from one individual invariably crashes their browser? Over the last two days I have noticed that simply trying to open any posts from " McBride " will crash Netscape on me with a message like " Netscape tried to execute an invalid command " . For whatever it's worth, I do not get posts from this group as email but rather web-only. I am running Netscape 4.08 on a Windows 95 operating system. I have a local ISP. Any thoughts? Gosh, I haven't heard this problem from anyone else. Anyone else having this problem? Is McBride sending messages with HTML formatting? Maybe there's some html code that choking your Netscape. Any other ideas out there?
Guest guest
Hi , I'm pretty sure I have been able to read others posts that have included html formatting (ie; I see really large or really small colorful fonts). My only doubt is that I have often logged on via my computer at work which is running Win NT and MS Internet explorer. I don't recall seeing any McBride posts from work (prior to 6/22); at least none that crashed me. Right now, I'm home on post-op recuperation so I'm stuck with my Win95/Netscape combo. Guess it's entirely possible it's a coding thing... I'd be interested if anyone else has experienced this problem, or if McBride might be willing to try to post a test message for me of a " plain vanilla " variety if there is any such control in that department. I'm feeling kinda bad that I have been excluding one person's opinion (though not by choice). Guest guest
I have been using HTML - most of the lists that I belong to just strip it out and convert the message to plain text. For this email, however, I've switched my setting over to plain text. Let's see if this helps. Just to let you know - I have MacAfee running 24/7 and since I've been on the net - oh let's see, it's been since 1992.... Almost ten years, I'm pretty well versed in how to spot viruses and avoid them. So I'm pretty sure it's not virus related. I am running Windows Millennium Edition - I predominantly use Internet Explorer, although I also use Netscape for some of my dial-up connections. So - I don't know if that could be the root of a problem or not. Sorry I've been causing a problem for you! Let me know if you get this one okay - okay? dina Dina in Aloha, OR Age 37/BMI 61 Waiting for my consult with Dr. Hoping my new insurance will cover it all.... Re: Technical Question / ?
