Guest guest
Hi all, I need your help please. Could you tell me what ICD-9 code you used to get your CoQ10 covered by insurance? We have a Mitochondrial Myopathy (probably considered Unspecified since the mutation, etc was not found). (Possibly Mito Myopathy Complex I deficiency). Our peds doctor had put 729.1 (myalgia and myositis, unspecified), but I want to make sure this will work for our kind of mito before we submit it. There is New Code: 277.87 Disorders of mitochondrial metabolism Kearns-Sayre syndrome Mitochondrial encephalopathy, lactic acidosis and stroke-like episodes syndrome (MELAS) Myoclonus with epilepsy and with ragged red fibers syndrome (MERFF) Mitochondrial neurogastrointestinal encephalopathy (MNGIE)_ Neuropathy, ataxia and retinitis pigmentosa syndrome (MARP) Add Excludes: disorders of pyruvate metabolism (271.8) Leber’s disease (377.16) Leigh’s encephalopathy (330.8) Reye’s syndrome (331.81) BUT the problem with this one is our family doesn't appear/test to have any of the above-listed mitos, other than the sections that says: Disorders of mitochondrial metabolism. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR HELP IN THIS MATTER, AS I AM RUNNING OUT OF TIME TO GET THIS SUBMITTED. Shirley, mom to and Jordan P.S. I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET MY EMAIL MESSAGES FOR THE LAST FEW DAYS AND TODAY, OFF AND ON, I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET SOME. I DID NOT GET AUG. 2 TO TODAY. I AM HOPING THIS WILL MAKE IT AND I WILL RECEIVE YOUR RESPONSES. THANKS
