Guest guest
We were just at the immunologist and we were informed that Wyatt's IGG has dropped since the last time it was tested in March '03. It is below normal, but not absent. We also found out that his system does not show that he received the chicken pox vaccination, which he did, and the number is very low, .2, for showing vacination to diptheria which he had his final dose in March 2004. Same goes for tetnius. My husband and I are reluctant to do IVIG since Wy does not have many good viens left. I would say he probably only has 2 really good ones left. So we agreed to treat with amoxicillian. I was kind of surprised by everything that I didn't ask what good would the amoxicillian do. Does it just fight off bacteria? Does it replace his immune system? It seems funny asking the questions, because I know when you have a bacterial infection you receive amoxicillian, but Wyatt is not sick right now he just doesn't have much of an immune system. My other question is, aside from common sense, how do I protect him from all the germs/illnesses kids bring to school. I already have written into his IEP that anyone who enters his classroom must wash their hands first and then do so every couple of hours, but any other suggestions? Thanks in advance for the help.
