Sleep Apnea

I have had all tests done that I can do before getting my date set,

but now am told that I can't get scheduled until I start on a CPAP

machine. Has anyone else had to wait to get their date in order to

treat sleep apnea? This just doesn't make sense to me as it is my

understanding that the machine doesn't " cure " apnea, only helps when

you use it. I will hopefully have the mahine in a week or so, but I

want to get my date set!

PS: I was diagnosed with mild apnea during regular sleep and severe

apnea during REM.

Thanks in advance for any info.

Maggie
