If Dr Gagner discusses this at all with someone who does not have 's

permission, then he is at risk for violating patient confidentiality. That

would be quite unethical and illegal.

This is 's call until she is in an emergency (life and death) or has

been declared incompetent legally.

I just want to know what I can do to help here. can you say?

Apparently what has been offered so far has not met your needs. What is it

that you want and need right now?

I don't think she knows. We have all offered her ideas, tips, suggestions.

She has not followed the dr's advice. Noone can meet her needs because she has chosen to not allow her needs to be met.

No he cant discuss her personally but he could tell us in general what we should do...he could also be asked to contact her emergency contact and suggest they contact to assess her and see what should be done. If she is dehydrated and confused, she may not be able to make her own lucid decisions and needs some help.

I just sent an email to Liz, the nutritionist at Mt. Sinai to ask her to intervene with Dr. G or his PA and have someone contact a family member or 's emergency contact. I'm sure Liz will follow up on this today.

In that case, most of us will have to ignore as all advise is ignored.

We have spent weeks trying to help this woman and its apparent she doesnt

want help, she just wants attention.

I'm wondering too if the infection was completely cleared up before

she was sent home- that too can cause altered mental status.

Still wondering..
