Caffeine and soda

Caffeine is an appetite stimulant as well as an irritant.

The reason you pee more is because it irritates your bladder and then it tries to flush it out. When you pee more than you should you have a chance of becoming dehydrated and for some that is a bad thing cause they are already having problems getting enough water in. And nobody wants to go through this surgery and turn around and use something that would cause them to crave more food. At least I wouldn't.

I can only assume that, like alcohol, it gets into your system faster and at a more concentrated level. That could lead to anxiety, heart palpitations, and a handful of other issues.

As for soda?

I was told to stay away from it mostly cause it can cause rupture in the early stages and the air can cause you to throw up. Bubbles are very addictive, believe it or not. I quit soda about 6 months ago and it was hard at first. But I am good now.

Of course everyone is different and different Doctors will tell you different things. But I always find facts to back up what I am told :)

19 days till surgery!

Hugs,

kym
