Hey everyone,

I don't post much, but I do read alot. I have found this email list

very helpful in preparing for surgery. I have a surgical date of

September 21, 2001 with Dr. Herron at Mt.Sinai. I have been

going through the list of tests he has required. What I like the most

is the feedback I'm getting from the various people involved in those

tests. To a one, they all agree that Dr. Herron is very thorough. I

had one pulmonary doctor tell me that he wished the surgeons who

perform the wls at his hospital were as thorough! This is a great

comfort to me! I want to have someone I can trust, especially if he

is going to be re-working my plumbing! Dr. Herron has been great

about responding to my email questions! Always within a day or so of

my email!

Anyway, the only tests I have left to complete are the sleep study

for sleep apnea and the endoscopy. Both of these will be done in the

next month!

The way my journey has been made smooth confirms my faith that

Someone Up Stairs is watching over me! Its exciting! The changes that

will physically begin to occur have already started for me

emotionally -- internally. I've begun to live the life I want to have

when I'm at a more comfortable weight.

I've become more active. I've joined a support group and become a co-

coordinator! Never had I thought I would do something in FRONT of

other people! I'm taking charge of my life and living! It's like the

that has always been smooshed deep down inside is breaking

out!

My friends and the people at my church comment on the changes I've

made in the last couple of months since starting my pursuit of the DS

surgery. Personally, I know that if I'm to be successful, I must make

the changes I need to NOW. I slip and fall back a bit, but this time

is different...I know where I'm going, and I'm up to the challenge.

This is going to work for me!

Heheh enough grand-standing for now. :) Thanks all for sharing so

freely!

M
