Guest guest
Although I am soo glad we will be removing 's last set off casts tommorow I do need some advice. When her 1st set was removed she had a pressure sore on the top of her foot. Dr.Ponseti applied pressure in that spot and so it created a sore. Well when her 2nd casts came off it was still there so he said he would not apply anymore pressure there. Well my question is that when i take her casts off and if the pressue sore is still there won't it bother her when she wears her shoes? Dr.POnseti wanted us to put her in the shoes right after her casts come off, but did she need a little time to relax from being in the casts so long? I remember how awful it was for us when she went in to her DBB last time and I want to make this transition as smooth as possible. True her feet were not corrected last time and they were the Markells which Dr.Ponseti told us that they would not help her that she needed the shoes. He assured us she would do fine in the shoes and I sure do hope he is right! and BL CF 12/16/
Guest guest
That's exciting! Why did she need re-casted? I worry if you give her time to relax between removing the cast and applying the shoe you may lose critical correction. It's the standard to go straight from cast to shoe immediately. I hope she finds the show more comfortable - and yes she may have a bad adjustment period, just clear your schedule and calendar for a few days so you can console her if need be. s. Guest guest
Thanks ee, you know what you told me is exactly what Dr.Ponseti said. He wanted her in the shoes immediately after removing the casts. I was just concerned in case she still has the pressure sore on her feet. She needed recasting because her feet were not corrected although her dr. assured me they were fine. We were concerned so we found this group and thanks to all the info I got with everyone found Dr.Ponseti and he corrected her feet. So here we are just hours away from taking off her casts and we are all so excited! We have the camera ready to capture what real corrected feet look like! We went through 2 doctors that assured us she was fine but we knew aomething was wrong. so we are anxiously awaiting this moment!! and BL CF 12/16/03 > That's exciting! Why did she need re-casted? Guest guest
Hey . This is a and Logan and we are in Iowa at the RMDH. I cant remember her name but she said Hello. Her son (teenager) was in an auto and had some kind of brain ingury. An update. They replaced the skull but found an air pocket last night. I just want everyone to keep this young man and his mom in your prayers. a Logan 07/12/04 michelle andyandsamanthamom@...> wrote: Thanks ee, you know what you told me is exactly what Dr.Ponseti said. Guest guest
s, thanks and say hello to everyone. Im glad you are doing great. We didnt go out much either cause of how cold it was but since all the family went we got to spend a lot of time together. My husband is a truckdriver and we really enjoyed the time together. im sorry to hear about logan. as for the weather you know we all got so dry up there! My skin was so dry and itchy AND MY HAIR!! As for well she has curly hair and over her hair turned straight. I was so disappointed but as soon as we got back it went back to normal. My hair did the same. I hope you enjoy the rest of your stay and hope your little guy feels better. When do you come home? and BL CF 12/16/03 > > > That's exciting! Why did she need re-casted? Guest guest
Funny your mentioned that about the hair. Livi's hair is real curly and went straight out in Iowa. She was about 19mnths then and I just thought oh' she's loosing her curls but when we go home they bounced right up! lol Also want to add that when Ava had her last cast removed Dr. Ponseti told us we could give her two hours to stretch out her legs and get a nice bath then into the shoes. Maybe it's different for everyone? KK > > > > That's exciting! Why did she need re-casted? Guest guest
You know at first I thought it was me about 's curls because it didnt happen all at once, just everyday her hair got straighter and straighter.
