Guest guest
You're not the only one a day late. I also agree with you. I was under the impression that anything you wanted to post was viewed by the postmaster and it was by their discretion (didn't spell that right)whether it got posted or not so if the postmaster didn't want religious stuff posted then why did they post it. I do like the idea of putting a header that says it has a religious subject in it then people who don't want to read that don't have to. Put there are many people who believe in a Higher power and that belief helps that person get through their tough time and they feel that maybe it could give some hope to others that are going through similar situations. I was talking to my husband about the request to keep religious discussions off the list and he was really upset because the US was founded by people who were being persucuted for their beliefs and they had to go elsewhere to practice their beliefs. Now we all might not believe in the same God or Higher power but we do all have faith and trust in a person that heals and that person is Dr. Ponseti. Sometimes with they way people talk about him it seems like he could be considered a God, thus there could be a religon that worships him. Isn't that how a religon gets started, faith and belief in someone that can do incredible things, heal, and he is also a teacher I mean look at all the DRs that are following his work and do the things he says to do and if anyone of us has a question about our child's treatment we can turn to him. Look I'm not trying to start a religon or anything , but just look at the similarities and please don't be upset at someone in expressing their joy or even faith in their higher power. I was sadden that it was even metioned to take the relgious dicussion off. Anyway I'm sure this doesn't make much sense but it's 12:35 AM and I haven't gotten much sleep this week and I'm just tired of everywhere I look people are trying to take talk about religon and religious beliefs or even just things of faith that are uplifting to some away from those who want to talk about it in a manner that they try not to be offensive but end up being told to go elsewhere. Whatever I'm tired and I think my daughter is finally asleep so it's off to bed. Guest guest
Hopefully, I can say this one last time and everyone can understand how I'd like top see things. I am not against ALL off-topic discussions - this includes the religious discussions. All I am asking is that such discussions be marked OT (off-topic) or religion mentioned for those who don't care to read about it. That said, there is no one person - not I as the list owner nor T. and Joy as moderators - who approves posts from all the members of this list. The only posts that require approval are posts from new members. The reason those posts require approval is due to some inappropriate posts (for sexual websites). We moderators do not have the time to approve each post made (which have been numbering over 1000 each of the last few months). I also do not want to completely censor everything that can be discussed.
Guest guest
Well said. My husband and I had a similar conversation. And I don't believe that talking about miracles when it comes to our kids and their feet IS off topic. It is nice to see so many people standing up and saying wait a minute. Thank you! > > Sorry to be a day late. > > I just want to say that I enjoy the off topic conversations on this > board. > > Sometimes it is enjoyable to hear people talking about other > things.
