Great news!!!!! I'm trying to catch up on my emails, so you've probably

received some feedback.... I'll just share what happened to us.

From my experience with Dr. Herzenberg, I feel he is conservative and

cautious. At Zoe's 3 year check up, I could tell he wanted to say she

doesn't need the shoes anymore. He basically said everything was phenomenal,

then he said, " If she's still tolerating the shoes and bar, let's keep

going. "

He did let her out of the shoes about 4 months later when I reported that

she was not tolerating the shoes and bar any longer. Even if she were to

relapse (highly unlikely), I would not regret the decision to stop. We were

the ones " pushing " for it if you will. Of course, if he would've said tough

it out, we would've.

Hope this helps! Joanne W.

Subject: Reduced Hours!!!!!!

had her checkup today with Dr. Herzenberg. He said her feet

look great! Dorsiflexion is 20 on both feet. Which he said was

very good. was in the s 23/7 for 3 long, long, long

months. Finally, we made it! Now here is my question: Dr. H said

she only needed to wear them 12 hours now. I was expecting to be

reduced to 16. I know 16 is the protocol, so I asked him and he

said it isn't necessary. Not even to wear them at naptime. I found

this very odd. has had 1 relapse already. I asked him if the

12 hours was enough time not to cause relapse and he looked at me as

if I had 3 heads. I'm paranoid, and I don't want another relapse.

In addition, I know the normal protocal. is 10 months, not

walking yet but pulling herself up to standing. I know 12 hours is

usually given after they start walking. Dr. Herzenberg definately

knows what he is doing and I have never questioned him before. I

plan to leave them on at least 14hours or maybe 16 some days. I

called DH after the appointment and told him Dr. H said 14 hours. I

had to stretch the truth a little or he will take them off at

exactly 12 hours.

Let me know your thoughts.

and 3/2/04,bcf, s 14 hours?
