Guest guest
Wow, . Thanks for sharing that website. I really enjoyed the information it contained and the pictures. I wonder if that older woman pictured had spent her entire life sufffering from clubfoot when it was correctable...how sad to think that so many people suffer from untreated clubfoot. How thankful we should be to have access to the doctors and information that we do. I really wonder why Oprah never responded to any of our emails. Guest guest
I Just came across this very interesting website w/Dr Ponseti. I have never seen it before and just though some of you would love to see it. The link is: http://education.vsnl.com/polio_rx/ I hope it works. There are many foreign pictures of older children succesfully treated with the Ponseti method. Just very cool!
Guest guest
That was a really interesting site. I was pretty sure I understood the idea behind the Ilizarov method, I had a friend who had the whole leg contraption with pins and all, and it did look pretty similar. But those pictures were really interesting. Especially the older Indian girl. Her foot looked awful--it's amazing the correction they achieved! Her calf still looked significantly smaller, though. Do you think that's because her CF was untreated & she was probably walking on her ankle, so her muscles didn't really have a chance to strengthen? I'm just wondering, because everything I've read says there's only an average 1 " diff in circum. between a CF leg & non-CF leg. It concerns me because Ava is unilateral, right. The other pics I've seen the difference isn't so pronounced, but they've all been little kids, 3 or 4 or 5 yrs. old. Hers was the first pic I've seen of an older person.
