How sad. It is even sadder how much pressure is put on doctors to know all

the answers...and then to have that happen to their own child. I imagine the

" what ifs' " that they have are so difficult. THat is wonderful that the child

has adapted so well.

I am sure that makes it easier. Totally understand why you don't want to

play 20 questions. gangrene is hard to treat without amputation..

a SEVERE infection that makes it into the menniges of the brain/spinal cord.

That is the tissue around the brain/spine. People can die from it, easily.

I'v never heard of anyone losing limbs because of it though.
