Guest guest
We use the s, they never leave marks and the Markells always left marks on Kaitlin's foot, so I don't really have much advice either. I wish I could help. I would think that you could loosen up the straps, especially if his foot has grown since the orthotist visit. As long as the heel is seated and the shoes stay on, I would assume it is okay to loosen up a strap. Also, how long has he been wearing those shoes? Maybe they are getting too small if his toes hang over. Seems like Kori has said that they should only be as tight as you can get them without using actual muscles...does that make sense? I think it was her, could have been someone else. Hope you have a good night. I am sure more people will help in the morning. I would have responded earlier, but I knew I couldn't really help much...then I read 's post and felt bad for not atleast trying.. Guest guest
For me, the new shoes always look so BIG after your old ones, but it doesn't take long to get used to...I've noticed that is a little restless on the first night of new shoes, after that he's back to usual sleep...but nothing like when they first start with fulltime FAB wear, so don't worry about it. RE: buckle tightnening / Foot Growth We use the lower one also. I never thought to move it to the upper one. We're going next week for new shoes and his toes hang way over.. My husband actually has to get on the bed behind him on his knees to pull that sucker to 7. He protests a little but never complains afterwards. But I'm thinking the purple marks are an indication they're a little too tight. They're not sores because they do go away in the hour but I'd rather they not be there. One more question. How do babies adjust to new shoes? I was thinking no problem, but since the leather is new is this going to be uncomfortable transition for him? Okay, I'm no going to get myself worked up. I'd say that if his foot isn't slipping at 6, then keep it like that. If the mark goes away after 1 hour you're not getting pressure sores, but forcing it to the 7th hole may be uncomfortable for him. Another thought, which slot are you using to thread the strap through? We start off with the lower one closer to the sole to get a snug fit, and when his feet get a lot bigger and 'higher', we move it to the upper one. and 24 Jan 2003 bilateral cf www.clubfoot.co.za
