Guest guest
GL . BTW, I bet you can't figure out what GL means! (yeah, I'm real clever over here) Seriously, I hope that all goes well today and you are in my prayers. Keep us updated on how it goes, although I believe it will go well. Looking forward to that party this summer (or atleast hearing about how tired you are from chasing around everywhere!) :-) Best wishes to you this afternoon, Freeman PS, my dh is too frugal to buy me another ring...he just says... " take your rings off if they bother you. " with this " what are you telling me for? " look. Oh well....*sigh*..... Hope it works for you though!!!!LOL
Guest guest
I just wanted to add, we are starting our water Therapy today for . For those who don't know, he's kinda a hard case and Dr. P and the Dr. here have consulted and said that what he needs to be doing is standing up flat feet and walking. He refuses. I work with him every hour for 30 minutes on standing, plus therapy and he will stand alright, he jsut wont put any force on his feet to make them flat. There isn't anything else they can do as we lost so much ground with this last casting, as in pulling himself up, standing flat, talking a few steps. We've been out of casts for almost 3 weeks now and he is just pulling himself up again. He's had two surgeries, one non ponseti and last one with ponseti part of it involved that capsulectomy thingy. They don't want to put him back in casts, they want him to walk. But in the meantime, his feet aren't fully corrected and he is already 15 months. Sooooo someone....shawnee... said what about getting him in the water? The pools here are so darn cold, but the therapy pools are shallow and heated and sure enough, it was a fabulous idea to try. So please, keep us in your prayers this afternoon. Pray that he will just thrive in these sessions and be able to come back and do it some more and put those darn feet flat!!! I have come to the realization that I am o.k. with whatever God has planned for , because it's for his best, but that doesn't stop me from asking for my hearts desires! My goal is to get him walking by summer, I want to through a big party, and I want to see him running around the back yard!!! And let me tell you, you will all be invited!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guest guest
, you know you always have my prayers. I hope will thrive with the water. It's very very common to use water for therapy and this just may be the trick. Aidan goes to PT weekly, not for his feet but just because of the preemie thing. Anyway, she says whenever he's out of his shoes rub the bottom of his toes and really stimulate and play with the feet as much as possible. There are so many nerve endings in the hands and feet and it sounds like he just needs to be reminded that those little things at the ends of his legs are made for walking and they are a part of his body.. Best of luck and Happy Swimming! Hugs, Jenn Wold aliwold2@...> wrote: I just wanted to add, we are starting our water Therapy today for . Guest guest
I didn't realize he was pulling himself up again, that's a great start. He will do well with the water therapy. You have our prayers. KK > > I just wanted to add, we are starting our water Therapy today for > . Guest guest
and -- We hope you had a great time in the pool today! I was just thinking about you last night. I take my kids swimming on Tuesday nights while my husband is teaching an evening class. Anyway, as Jonah and Hannah were splashing around, I was wondering if had started his therapy yet. I know Jonah just loves the water. We usually bring a couple of balls and floaty toys(a rubber duck, a little boat)and I have him kick his way chasing those around--holding onto him, of course. I sure do hope you have as much fun as we do! We threw a huge party when Jonah started walking. We hadn't had a birthday party when he turned a year old, so it was a great time to get all our friends over and CELEBRATE! We set out all his casts(he had 4 months of casting before we switched to a Ponseti doctor) and the footrints they took at birth. Next big party is when he is released from the FAB in about 3 years.... All our best.
