Guest guest
I have always baked bread without a machine. But with this new diet I think I will maybe consider buying a bread machine. Do you all like yours? Trisha
Guest guest
I got mine just a few weeks ago at Walmart for $50. I can't believe I waited that long to get one! What a life saver! It's the horizontal pan variety and it works great with the basic bread machine recipe in " Special Diets for Special Kids " and also works great with my new favorite bread--Gluten-free Homemade wonderful bread mix from Bob's Red Mill. in Houston >

I got mine for Christmas & love it (it's a vertical pan one). I too really like the Homemade Wonderful Bread Mix from Bob's Red Mill. There is also a recipe on the back of their potato starch bag for white sandwhich bread with instructions for bread machine or oven. I did it in my bread machine & it came out really well. Tyler was even eating it plain. I have better luck with bread from the bread machine than from the oven. The ones I've done in the oven come out like bricks for me. It could be the loaf pan I use though. If anyone is interested in the recipe, let me know & I'll post it. - what setting did you use for the recipe in " Special Diets for Special Kids " ? Mine doesn't have a programable or " Light " setting so wasn't sure which one to do. Kandel
Guest guest
Just personal experience, I bought a bread machine and I really prefer to still bake it without, I could never get the bread to come out right ion the machine, so for me waste of money. The loaf isn't very big but it has wonderful texture and looks/feels like " real " bread. in Houston

I felt this way too. However, I'm one of those people who even felt that way pre-diet. I didn't care for those large, odd shape loafes of bread, with a hole in the middle. a - Madison WI
