Guest guest
<< I still wonder whether the " oppositional " is an attempt at inertia, to maintain the status quo and not change? transition, move, do a new thing, change attendtion,e tc. my son has this " oppositional " but it's not a willful thing, he gets that " stuck " ness in thought and etc. .. JoyceW, >> Joyce, Absolutely, " oppositional " is not always ODD, it is an anxiety to change, and anxiety to what is new and letting go. My son was labeled ODD at the beginning of this whole thing, and he is not like that very much at all. He really has changed about it, and when he is we can see the reasons why for the most part. His favorite word was " no " for even things he liked. Sensory Integration Therapy made all the difference, and behavior managament(DSI style that is) with a psychologist, not a psychiatrist. Hope this helps, Laurie
