Dear Jill,

We will be going on our first family cruise next weekend. It's just a 3 day

cruise. So far the cruise line has been helpful. I just told them my son

was a celiac, a condition which they were familar with. I also told them he

had a lot of other allergies. They said we can bring an ice chest on board

to keep his snacks in the cabin which the room stewart will keep stocked

with ice. Also, they said if I wanted to, I can bring his own pasta which

they will gladly prepare for him. They also said I can bring his bread

which they will keep in the refridgerator and warm up for him at meal times.

The main thing I have to do is meet with the head waiter as soon as we board

and go over the menu and discuss what my son can have off of the menu. My

son is not a picky eater so I don't think it will be a problem. The cruise

line we are sailing on has a Special Medical Needs department and most other

cruise lines should too. Carnival's special needs dept. was very familar

with the restrictions of celiac disease and told me the kitchen staff is

also used to dealing with passengers with food allergies. They have also

put a special note to the ship's staff letting them know ahead time of my

son's food restrictions. After we get back next week, I can let you know

how it all went.

As for Disney World, I'm not sure about the special passes but I do know

that Disneyland does issue these. They will issue you one handicap pass

that states how many are in your party. So your other family members should

be able to join you. Most likely you would get these at guest services.

Hi,

I have belonged to this group for almost a year now

but really haven't posted. I find this group to be

very helpful.

My name is Jill and married to . We have a 6 year

old Autistic son.

We are planning a trip with my whole family in August

to Disney World followed by a cruise. Has anyone done

anything like this? Any information would be greatly

appreciated. I would also like to know how to go about

getting passes so we don't have to wait in line and

can we use this pass for our sons cousins who will

also be on the trip? My e-mail address is

jawd37@.... Again any information is greatly

appreciated.

THank you

Jill, and
