Guest guest
I just got of the phone with Larry the chemist at Kirkman Labs. We discussed calcium and I mentioned that I was concerned that 75% of the calcium in thier supplement was calcium carbonate (which Dr. Woody McGuiness said was not as good as calcium citrate). He said that most adults and normal person to fine with the absorbate variety but if the stomach acid is not right (which is often the case with autistic kids), the absorption is not good. They are working on another variety (which is due out in @ 3months) which includes more calcium citrate (the kind recommended as best - for now), as well as some others. He concluded saying that the best thing you can do, is give the calcium carbonate with vitamen C -- and this will significantly enhance its absorption. Thought others might be interested in this info. Lori from KS
