Tenotomy in older kids (3yrs +) 2nd and 3rd time??

I would like to hear from anyone that has had a tenetomy done on an

older child. Dr Ponseti mentioned possibly doing it on Grace. She

will be 3 and a half. Also it would be the 3rd one done on her

right foot and the 2nd on her left. I wonder what the effects would

be etc. Dr Herzenberg told me he has never done one on this old of

a child and that he would not do it. He says the fixator(Ilizarov)

would actually be less damaging to the tissues. Please let me hear

if anyone has experience in this area!! I am trying to make my mind

up on what to do but it is getting harder everytime I turn around.

Well was 25 months old when Dr. P's crew in Iowa did a 2nd tentetomy -

but he also had the whole ATTT deal done at the same time so I'm not sure our

experience would be of any help to you.
