Guest guest
My son is 4.8 y.o. and has been on the GFCF diet for 15 months. He can't have the obvious of gluten, casein and also tested intolerant to soy, eggs, olive oil, peanuts, tomatoes, air...just kidding on that last one. For a year all he ate was homemade french fries and sometimes chicken or hot dogs. He finally is sick of the fries. On occassion he will eat GFCF pancakes, corn chips, corn pops and rice cakes. He lives on rice milk. He also can't tolerate any yeast as he has constant yeast problems which we're always treating. He also can't have any dyes. He is MAJOR oral sensitive and visually he has to check everything out. He acts like I'm suggesting he eat fire when I come at him with anything new. We do alot of interventions including mercury chelation, FGF treatments and ABA but this food issue is the most difficult and most frustrating. We also have nothing to work with him during therapy. He's not interested in toys so it's either food or videos and of course there is no food we can give him. Can you tell I'm frustrated beyond belief? I am looking for those of you with the most sensitive, intolerant and finicky of eaters to help me with some ideas on what to feed him. Please post to me privately if you would because I am so far behind on list. Also I could use a good ear infection remedy. A million thanks. Penny mcksmom@... Guest guest
Hey Penny, I hear your frustration and I live it. My son is not just intolerant to most foods, he is actually allergic. As for the air, he is allergic to that too!!! My son eats the same thing everyday. He usually skips breakfast. but on the rare occasion that he eats, I give him dry cereal(he likes the crunch). We use Rice crunch ems, gorilla munch and amazon flakes. I also tried making him pop tarts once. For lunch he gets either toast made from Noahs Bread, or a bagel or English muffin made from mixes and frozen. On top of it, I put some all natural blueberry jelly. He eats lays potato chips. For dinner, he gets rice pasta with either homemade or Classico sauce and some form of meat-meatloaf, lamb chop, ground turkey, ground veal, etc. He eats the rice snap crackers. He eats for snacks the gourmet rings and potato flyers. He also will occasionally try an all juice popsicle or raisins. My son only drinks water. I have made recipes from the list that he likes for snacks such as the chocolate cake recipe that I made into cupcakes for his birthday in February and he is still eating them. I also make him chocolate chip cookies, graham crackers and the chocolate crunch cookies from miss robens. Does this help any? My son is very picky and very allergic.
