Guest guest
My five year old daughter registered for kindergarten last week, and I am now faced with a list of vaccinations she needs to catch up on before September. I've read quite a bit about safe vaccination routines, and thought I had a good plan, but I'm now pretty scared about carrying it out. went through two periods of what looked like sudden autistic regression when she was about 18 months old, both " spells " lasting four or five days before she regained eye contact and language. Looking back through her records, I can of course see she had her MMR around that time. My eight year old son, who is autistic, showed signs from birth... but, of course had the Hep B vaccine the day he was born. I'm not comfortable with not immunizing her at all, but are " safe " vaccines, such as separate, mercury free M, M, and R, acelllular DPT, and killed polio virus safe for a child who might have had a previous reaction? P.S. Has anyone else had an experience with a child who suddenly regressed, but then recovered over a period of weeks or days? Thanks,
Guest guest
The problem is what did she react to? Mercury, anti-freeze, formaldahyde, the viruses, a combination? So how can you know what would be safe? If anything? More on point, my son reacted mildly to the first DPT. After that, he was very clingy. I was talked into the 2nd (cuz I'm just a dumb overreacting mom). He cried on & off throughout the night. After that he had night terrors, constipation started, and the endless ear infections (about 6 weeks later). I didn't know that they were connected, but I was convinced based on the crying alone, there would be no more DPTs. Assured that there were no problems with the MMR, we proceeded with that, followed by hours of screaming & spasms...you get the point. There was a definite escalation in reactions & damage. I can't cite the source, but I did hear on a tv science show back in the 1980's that there are early warning signs that a child has problems with vax, and they should be heeded before the damage accumulates. THis was specifically regarding the DPT - which was recognize to be a problem for some kids a long time ago. Given your child's earlier reaction to the vax, can you find a doctor who will listen & give you a medical exemption? Some states also have relgious and/or personal conscience objections. If you want to vax anyway despite the earlier episode, there are some guidelines that other listmates may be able to provide. We, however, have opted out of further pharmaceutical/governmental experimentation. Guest guest
Look at www.909shot.com because many of these vaccines are countraindicated for those with any neurological disorders in the family. This would mean us. Also, pertussis for example carries a risk of asthma for example--if you have a predisposition to this in your family than I would avoid this. Personally , I believe the pertussis vac. is quite scary however if you get the tetanus or DT by itself they still have mercury. Also look at vacs under www.devdelay.org very interesting. My 5 yr old Nt daughter will not go thru anymore now -- no more guinia pigs in my family. Good luck with your decision--it is a very difficult one.
