These are NOT DOE figures.

This set of rates (floating all over the 'net) has had serious

questions raised about its accuracy. Apparently someone took

different DOE stats, combined them & did some math and came up with

this list. The main criticism is that they seem to be the the autism

rates amongst the special ed population, not the general school

population.

Likewise, there is another error with a 900% autism increase alleged

in some papers. I found it initally in a Goldberg/NIDS press

release, also claiming it was a DOE figure. I contacted Goldberg &

his company, requesting the source of this data, but no one responded.

And I haven't found anything in DOE figures to support it.

Yes, autism is increasing and it's a nightmare, and we don't need

questionable math, inaccurate sources & unsupported figures to know

that.
