> Is anyone still getting their B12 shots every month?

All of my bloodwork has always been in the normal range since my

surgery, almost 2 1/2 years ago. Now that I'm pregnant, I found out

at my first prenatal visit that my B12 was too low. Luckily, my

OB/GYN ordered a B12 test since it isn't a normal blood test that

they typically do on most pregnant women. Anyway, I was put on B12

shots, immediately after my 8wk prenatal visit. I even have the

pleasure of giving myself the shots to save a one hour car trip into

the city every week!

Has anyone else started taking the shots AFTER getting pregnant? I'm

wondering if it will help my energy levels any, or if I'm just

suffering from typical first trimester symptoms.

Why would you need the b12 shots, if you can take a b12 over the

counter, say everyday? I'm 18 mo post op, 37 weeks preggo and my

high risk doc asked me about the shots and I told her i take it over

the counter everyday... she never mentioned it again?

(ps I'm high risk b/c of IUGR.. among other possible things...)

I just starting getting B12 shots last month. I was not getting them before I

was pregnant, but my surgeon suggested that I get them now that I am pregnant.

It has not, however, helped with the fatigue. I'm supposed to get a second one

on Friday.
