Guest guest
We've been GFCF for 6 months and saw huge changes in awareness, language, behavioral, and overall state of mind. Before GFCF diet, he had chronic loose bowels alternating with constipation. Sometimes he would only go every 4 days. The diet fixed the problem but the loose, mushy stools remain. I had rays of hope when we started Nystatin 6 weeks ago, which caused further gains in receptive and expressive language, but also he was having normal stools for a period of a few days about 4 days into starting the Nystatin. Then, they stopped and we are back to mushy again (but the other gains remain - there has been no regression).. Does anyone have any ideas to what is causing this and what else I can explore to solve this problem? Today he had a major, diarreah (sp?) blowout and I have no idea why. Past gluten infringement just caused autistic behaviors to worsen. Could it be a casein infringement (haven't experienced that yet), or perhaps another food allergy manifesting itself. It really gets old always having to always play detective in these things. Sometimes I wonder if it will ever stop - I get so weary. Thanks for you help in advance.
