Guest guest
Hello everybody! Weston, now 4 months old, is flinging his bar around like a mad man. He loves to lift up his legs and bang the bar down. This is fine with me.. the only problem is he gets the bar wrapped around his blankets at night. Often times when I got in for a feeding or to get him up he doesn't have any blankets on. He doesn't like to be swaddled any more. Any suggestions?? Thanks, Lori
Guest guest
hi lori, we had the same problem so we bought a couple of sleepsacks for naomi and use them all the time instead of blankets... she really seems to like it - it gives her the freedom to kick and raise her legs and we know that she's still warm. maureen wbb_lr wrote: > > Hello everybody! Guest guest
Lori, Aidan is in the same boat and I can't keep the covers on him for anything! He raises his little legs up high and slams them down knocking off his covers. I just put him to bed in warm clothes. There is also a thing called the sleep sac, which I know alot of mothers here use. I believe it's a sleeping bag for babies available at Walmart. HTH wbb_lr lori.webb@...> wrote: Hello everybody! Guest guest
That is how I do it - we kind of have a cold house so I put the blanket sleeper on him, then the sleep sack over that. He's slept much better since I began doing this. s. Do you put your child in jimmies and then the sleeper sack over them? I just want to make sure he is warm. Guest guest
Hi We always use the baby sleep sacks/sleeping bags. You just zip them in so there legs are inside. I don't think we could have managed without them. I think they are also called baby nests. Rach, Steve & Connor -- Flying bar! Hello everybody! Guest guest
Our house is pretty cold and we are in the UK!!!! Anyway I put his vest and jammies then the sleep sack and he has never been cold. In the summer we use a lightweight one and perhaps just a vest as their arms are exposed. Guest guest
Lori, I know everyone already told you about the sleep sacks. I just wanted to share that if you are handy at all with a needle you can take a pattern and make it larger wherever you need it. My daughter is 11 mos old - almost a year now - so she doesn't fit in to the ones from the normal stores and the ones over the web are just tooo darn expensive so I got a pattern and figured it would be too hard but alas it's just not. six pieces and easy sewing. I enlarged the bottom width so her bar fits nicely and will through next year at least. I lengthened it as well and made the sleeves longer also. I roll them up now but next year they'll be fine. It was a cheap solution - I made 5 for the price I'd have spent buying one on the web, I made several double thick for our really cold nights, and I KNOW they'll last a bit. Just a thought... Guest guest
, I got this pattern http://store.sewingtoday.com/cgi-bin/butterick/shop.cgi?s.item.B4272=x&TI=10011&\ pageNum=2 but from our local store. There's also one like it in several of the other brands. I did alter it a bit - put cuffs on it instead of elastic and such as well as altering the size but all in all it's quite simple. And if you aren't sure about zippers, you could so some snaps or perhaps velcro as well. Just modify the pattern pieces you cut to give you enough material to do whatever change you are making. Guest guest
Does anyone know of a good source to buy bigger size sleep sacks? Guest guest
Thank you! I am not handy with a needle but Weston's grandma is! Maybe I can talk her into it! Now are these sleep sacks that everyone is talking about the ones that are like pajamas.. they just have no feet at the bottom? Some have mentioned sleeping bags. is this something different? Guest guest
Yes, that's what everyone is talking about. And This pattern is a sleep sack. There are some available on the web that are larger but man are they pricey. Really pricey. Even on ebay they go for close to retail so I opted to make my own. There are ones like this pattern with sleeves (I put pj's on underneath and use this like the blanket) or there are ones with a tab over the shoulder (I'll make those for spring). I'm going to try to paste a pic of her sleeping in one here but I doubt I'll be successful. I'll also post to the Pics group or send to you individually if you need it that way. Note that it's double layered and that it's big for growth which is why the sleeves are rolled up! Chris Flying bar! Hello everybody! Guest guest
hi, i bought mine from www.kidalog.com (it's a canadian site) and it's still huge on naomi (23 pounds, 29 inches tall, 13 inch bar)... i talked to a woman there and she said that if i didn't think that it would fit naomi's bar that they could make adjustments to the sleep sack... i guess they make them right there... maureen jagrindon wrote: > > Does anyone know of a good source to buy bigger size sleep sacks?
