Guest guest
We had much difficulty with diarrhea initially on the diet. In hindsite, I now believe that it was due to the decreased wheat and milk, which slow down the system, and increased sugar intake (fruit juice) that we drank when the milk was gone. We went to the pediatrician with our list of all foods he had eaten, trying to figure out what was causing the diarrhea. They did 3 ova & parasites tests, and 1 stool culture, all negative. We then went to the pediatric GI specialist. She said to cut the sugar, including juice, and if that didn't clear it up, then call back. Well, it worked. We also found during this time that he had a sensitivity to whole kernel corn and orange juice. He would vomit and have bad diarrhea if he ate these. 6 months later, we tried corn and orange juice again, no problem. Apparently, his gut has healed and he can tolerate these again. You could try some stool firming foods: bananas, apples, rice, gfcf bread, peanut butter.
