You're right, of course. But it is sooooo hard for me to take this in a

good light. So many people think everything that's wrong is a discipline

problem. My children not sleeping is another example. And yet when it

happens that one of theirs ends up being a non-sleeper, well, that's a

different story. After all, they've done everything right and their kid

still won't sleep. Haha.

It's so good that you have a friend who loves your son so much that she

doesn't see his problems (wouldn't be good as a parent, but someone outside

of raising him can see him that way). I'm afraid I don't have anyone like

that for the one who needs it most. But I guess the few who do love him

must authentically love him, it's not always so easy.

And you're right about this list, here there is understanding.

I took my son to the eye Dr. last week. Dominic wasn't very cooperative, so

the Dr. suggested that, at home, I cover one of his eyes and roll a tiny

marble or pellet in the opposite direction of him to see if he can track it.

I looked at him incredulously and said, " He can't even find his blanket when

he's holding it! " He looked at me dumbfounded and said, " Why not? " I guess

one day I'll just learn to keep my mouth shut.
