Guest guest
Have you tried Benefiber?? Also, I have found that if I eat several of the bite-sized frosted mini wheats every day I stay 100% regular. They do have some sugar, but I do not dump, and they have GREAT fiber content to keep you regular. Good luck!! Mandi in Concord, NC

Guest guest
Hi everyone.... The iron in my prenatals is making me irregular. What laxatives have any of you taken? The nurse told me Milk of Magnesia but isn't there a lot in sugar in that? That's all I need...dumping! Then she said prune juice....too full of sugar and watered down is totally gross. For my first pregnancy the doc said Senakot but that stuff didn't do a thing to me! HELP! I'm miserable! Aali
Guest guest
I was soooooo constipated it literally was like a base ball bat comming out of me. I felt like it would be easier to give birth with out any meds than do what I was doing. Well I was told Milk of magnesia (works fine with no dumping for me) or colace up to 3 times a day until you regulate yourself. Good luck - constipation is the worst! - Diane > Hi everyone.... > > The iron in my prenatals is making me irregular. What laxatives have > any of you taken? Guest guest
Aali, I have taken peri colace (did I spell that right?) when it has gotten bad. Of course my OB wanted me to up my fiber to try to keep me more regular. I told him that I am constantly snacking on fruit so how could I possibly get in more fiber. My constipation is aggravated because I am on pain medication as well. I told him that when I take only 2 peri colace it didn't really work so he said it was ok if I took 4 but only once in a while. When its really bad I have taken 4 and it takes two days to work, but it does. I have never had any bad issues with it, like stomach cramps or the runs with it, but thats just me. I have tried Milk of Magnesia and that never did anything for me, but it didn't make me dump either. Good luck, I know how uncomfortable this can be, I hope you get relief soon. Axelrod help! Guest guest
If you can choke them down, MOM comes in unflavored and sugar free mint flavor. This is what I take when things get really bad. Problem is that if you are constipated with hard/large stools, the MOM will help any new " developments, " but doesn't soften the constipation already present so you might ask your doc if you can take a stool softener along with the MOM, especially since it can take several hours to a day for MOM to work.
