Question about Clomid and ovulation

Hey y'all!!

I just finished taking my first cycle of Clomid. I finished on Monday night.

My question is this: when taking Clomid should I expect to ovulate around

the same time as normal or does it happen sooner...or later?? I know

" typically " one ovulates around day 14ish. I asked someone else this question

and she

told me to start testing for ovulation (I bought some test strips) 3 days

after my last Clomid. That would put me at day 10 of my cycle. I didn't

clarify

my question to this woman to state that my doctor prescribed me to take the

Clomid on days 3-7 of my cycle when I know lots of doctors say to take it on

days 5-9. I'm asking the question because I did test for ovulation yesterday,

but it came back negative. As the strips aren't cheap, I'm wondering if I

shouldn't be waiting until next week to test. What do you think?? Any advice

would be appreciated!!

When I was on Clomid I would ovulate anywhere from days 10-12. i was never

very regular.

Good Luck, i would try with the strips for now until you get an idea what

cycle day you are ovulating on. i always took my clomid days 5-9.

that is a very good question. One that I didn't think to ask the

first 3 cycles on clomid. I did discover (after becoming very fine-

tuned to my body after reading " Taking Charge of your Fertility " by

Toni Weschler), that Clomid made my normal ovulation go from every 28

days to 42 days!!!!! I just *knew* that I was pregnant b/c I had all

of the symptoms (clomid gives the same symptoms as preg). I was

DEVASTSTED when I started my period on day 42. I just knew I had to

be pregnant since I am normally so regular!
