Guest guest
My guy is a lunchable-fan, too. When we were gfcf, I used to buy the regular lunchable (and eat it myself :-), then replace everything with " ok' versions, i.e. little noah's bun for the hamburger bun, homemade burger, skittles for the candy, capri sun comes in some of them (it's ok, I think). You get the idea. You can put wrap everything and put it in the regular " lunchable " packaging, I think that's what my guy likes about it -- the logo! Anyone else got a " logo " kid? Guest guest
> Lunchables Fun Snacks " Marshmallow, Crispy squares, they come in a twin > pack Laurie, I'd be willing to bet that the marshmallow cripsy treat has malt (which is in regular rice krispies), so that would make it a no-no... Also, the marshmallows need to be made with corn starch, not modified food starch (which could come from wheat). Sorry :^(
Guest guest
They are probaly not alright. Sorry. When something looks to good to be true it usually is in our case. Do you have the ingredients on hand? Type them down and we'll let you know. MA
Guest guest
I read a post quite some time ago by a creative mom who bought a little Tupperware thing that was sectioned off, about the size of a Lunchable, filled it with GFCF meats, crackers, and other goodies and her son felt like he had a Lunchable, too. I've tried it with field trips where nothing can be refrigerated, and it works real well (the fresh veggies I used did not go over well, though). I do something similar with those snackables PBJ things...the PBJ is GFCF so I pull open the cracker part, leaving the PBJ sealed , wipe it out thoroughly, and then add in the appropriate amount of Bi-Aglut snack crackers...and then tape it shut. is just happy b/c then he has the " same " traveling snack as his brother and sister. Further proof that marketing counts... M
Guest guest
> I didnt know rice crispies were a no-no. what is malt ? what is it made of? > Malt comes from barley, which is a grain, like wheat, that contains gluten. Anything containing malt is therefore NOT gfcf, and most rice cereals contain some malt. BUMMER! Sue
Guest guest
Yes! My son is definitely a logo kid. I think one of the problems with getting him to eat GFCF is that the packaging is always so plain and boring. I literally make up the pancake batter without him around because if he sees the GFCF mix I use he won't eat it. He'd rather starve! ('s mom) Re: New Lunchables > My guy is a lunchable-fan, too.....
