Hello everyone

I received this email from Dr Ponseti today:

" After 3 months of full time brace wear, we usually gradually wean

the babies out of the brace, starting with 4 hours a day out for one

month, then 8 hours a day out. We try to have the babies wear the

brace at night and naptime for a total of 16-18 hours and once they

are walking wear it at least 14 hours. We used to recommend bracing

continue to age 3, but since we have seen some relapses, we now

recommend 3 1/2 to 4 years of age.

I.V. Ponseti, M.D. "

I hadn't heard this before so thought I'd post it here.

Our son had a check up yesterday. He's been in the s

for 2 months. Our consultant was very pleased with his progress. His

feet have improved so much since being in the sandals. His right

foot in particular looks so much better and is a lot less stiff. So

we are delighted and are so grateful to our consultant, Dr Ponseti,

this forum, and the steps forum in the UK. We have learnt, and

continue to learn and feel reassured when reading about everyone

else's experiences. Thank you all!

Stella, thanks for posting this! I think that this is something

that should be posted in the 'files' section for future reference!
