Guest guest
Hi and all other members here... My name is Tonya Gist and I'm new to this group as well. I'm 10 weeks pregnant with my 3rd child...(I have a 14 year old son and a 12 year old daughter....and two grown stepchildren). I live in Texas, and had my WLS in Dec. 2002 and have lost right at 100 lbs. , we're also a Navy family, though my husband retired after 20 years in 1997, but I do remember the long " last tour of duty " to Cuba and Iceland for a year and a half. We were stationed in Memphis, TN at the time and could not go with him, so I sold our home (though I loved Memphis) and moved back home to Texas near my family. I hope that your pregnancy goes very well and that your other 3 children are excited and helpful as well. I'm so jealous that you're living in Thousand Oaks!!!! I LOVE IT there! I was born in Los Angeles, CA and we lived in Simi Valley (near Thousand Oaks) when I was a child before moving to Texas when I was about 6. I visit Los Angeles and Thousand Oaks at least 2-3 times a year and also love going to Santa and Malibu. I'm hoping to make at least one or two more trips there before I get too large to travel..LOL My due date is around Oct. 23rd. I'm still going through the major nausea all day and the fatigue, but I feel the fatigue part getting a little better in the last couple of days, but no relief on the nausea yet. I would love to be where you are and able to take walks through beautiful Thousand Oaks everyday!! Is this your first time to be in California? I know the areas around there so well, that even here from Texas, I can tell you some neat places to check out and fun things to do if you need any info. We visted the base a couple of times that you are associated with....(I won't even try to spell it right now..LOL) and shopped there etc. Anyway, I thought I'd share with you my California comments as well as introduce myself to you and the others in this group. I look forward to reading all of the posts and staying in touch with all of you. Take care, Tonya Gist Tsizzerhnd@...
Guest guest
, Welcome and congrats! We have a few military folks here (including me) so you should feel right at home. Make sure you are taking your prenatal vitamins and getting healthy calories and water. Sorry to hear your hubby is being deployed, but so glad to hear that he is going to be home for the birth. I know that has always been a concern for us that my hubby would be deployed, especially when the commanding general got a letter telling him to have his troops ready, so far nothing. Glad you found us! Axelrod Hello Newly Expecting WLS Mom Here:) Hello, My name is Abrams. I am 8 weeks pregnant and 9 months post from WLS. This is my husband Chris's first baby and my fourth.
