Big News and a Question...

Hello everyone.

I don't post much, I typically just read all the helpful info that you

share. I had an ultrasound last week (the day before I left for a week

vacation) and I wanted to share our news. I am 35 so my doctor has all

her patients get a level 2 ultrasound; it was really neat as I didn't

have one of those with my 9 year old son. At first the tech though we

were having a girl and I tried NOT to get excited but it was hard; she

then looked around more and there it was as plain as day. another boy!!

He had his legs firmly together most of the time and then the knees were

crossed. He must have heard us talking about him being stubborn because

at the right moment, he opened his legs for us all to see!! It was a

riot; his daddy is so proud! Haha

One thing the tech said as well is that I have a low lying placenta; it

was covering the cervix. Did any of you have this happen? I was 18

weeks at the time and she is going to recommend to my doctor that I come

back for another u/s in 4 weeks to see if the placenta moves up. I am

not stressed about it as I know that it will/can move on its own but

wanted to see if any of you have experienced placenta previa. Any info

would be appreciated! I will see my doctor next week for my 20 week

check up and will ask her about it as well.

Have a great day everyone,

Ivy

,

If you go to Yahoo search or Google or Ask Jeeves and type in

placenta previa it will tell you tons of information about the

condition. Please know that it is scary reading most of the

information, but also know that placenta's can migrate (move). Of

course you shouldn't be putting anything in your vagina (douches,

tampons, and I wouldn't have sex until ok'd by your OB). Basically

what it is, is that your placenta that nourishes the baby while

pregnant, is covering your cervix. Good thing is that they can (and

often do) move upward. You don't want to insert anything that

possibly could punch through the cervix and tear the placenta.

Be certain to discuss all of you concerns and details with your OB!

Best wishes!

:)
