Guest guest
Hi Jenni. The robeez have no sole, so they provide no support and are recommended for the pre-walker. s can wear them too, but I would certainly get a shoe that is made for walking. You can go to preschoolians.com and read about how important shoes are during this stage. I personally will get the best shoes and pay out the nose if I have to, because their feet are super delicate and I want them to develop normally. Elefantan and Stride Rite also have great walking shoes. Shook Retail Operations Manager/Baking Instructor Vie de France Yamazaki, Inc. 2070 Chain Bridge Rd. Guest guest
Stride Rite is having their clearance now! Great prices!! Mommy to (12-17-98) and Christian (1-30-04) LCF - DBB (nights only) _____ From: Jenni Cypher Sent: Sunday, January 30, 2005 6:41 PM To: nosurgery4clubfoot Subject: Shoes after DBB I know this has been discussed previously but I couldn't find what I was looking for in the archives so I am going to ask a few questions about the best shoes for Kelsey to wear after her FAB is off during the day, hopefully at the end of February. Do the Robeez shoes provide adequate support, etc to be worn outside or are they more like a slipper to be worn inside only? Kelsey is a 15 month old walker but does her best and is most comforable with bare feet but I want to get her the best shoes for her. We do play outside quite a bit and it is cold and snowy here now. She also loves to climb and is very active. Any suggestions. Jenni
Guest guest
Darbi wears them outside all the time. And we live in Portland. Oregon that is... We're born with web feet around here you know. On rainy days if she's going to have to walk outside no, but when it's dry or just moist she wears them and should it get wet, I just carry her instead. She won't keep her socks if she's just wearing socks, but with the Robeez she will wear them all day and not even attempt to take them off. She also doesn't walk long distances when we do go out, I need to move a lot quicker than I can waiting for her if she's walking. They aren't supportive, no. But I'm still not entirely sold on the need to wear supportive shoes at this age anyway - as it's based on whether or not the child is out of the house or not. Most of the day she's inside with the occasional itty bit of walking here and there when we're out. Otherwise she's sitting in a stroller or shopping cart or carseat... So for us, I haven't worried about distinguishing between supportive shoes for outside and barefoot inside. She's 22mo's, been walking since 10 and she still doesn't seem like it's worth it to worry about which shoes she's wearing when we go out or what. Quite honestly, high top boy shoes don't look too swell with a dress or skirt so I keep choosing something girly over her high tops when I do have to make that choice. With her brothers, it was a lot easier to put a good shoe on them and I think it'd also be easier with a boy CF child. She will probably wear them more as she gets older. I hope I'm not doing her a huge disservice, but a pink dress and high top shoes just do NOT work. Why bother to wear a dress at all?
