Is your doctor nuts. You are doing great. that is just about perfect. I

would not do anything different, not even skipping bread since you need starches

in your diet too. WOW, the nerve of them.

Hello everyone, I haven't posted in awhile but I'v been reading the

posts and learning a lot from everyone. Now I have a question...I

had my monthly doctor's appt. yesterday. I am 27 weeks along with my

first baby and have gained a total of 19lbs. Now my doctor was very

upset with the weight gain. How much is too much? I think that the

weight gain is all baby. I don't seem to have gained much anywhere

else so I thought I was fine. I still have 13 more weeks and he

seems to think that I'm going to gain too much weight. I'm going to

stop eating bread and see if that helps. I just seems to be always

hungry lately. So what do you guys think??? To much weight??

Thanks,

Thank you Robin, I needed to hear that. I think my OBGYN just has

issues with weight. I know that I need to start eating a little

healthier so I'm going to work on that. Thanks again!!

Hi Shirley,

I am a little over 17 weeks now. I gained 10 pounds in my 1st trimester and then

an extra 4 pounds

in the past 5 weeks. So its a total of 14 pounds and I am freaking out over how

much I am gaining.

I wish it was ALL baby. Instead I am all thighs, baby and butt. Someone said,

" Well at least it

isn't 50 pounds. " and thinking of that makes me feel a lot better. With my

daughter I gained 75

pounds or more. My my 17th week I gained about 35 pounds. I sorta admire your

weight gain--wishing

I was on the smaller side. I think I will be the few of us that gain more than

the usual. In your

case -- I don't see why the Dr is giving you a hard time. As long as the baby is

healthy and your

weight gain is ALL baby--don't let it upset you! I know some that loose weight

during pregnancy or

don't gain a pound. So I think you doing great--and i am jealous! :) ita.

Shirley,

I think your weight gain is fine. Don't some OB's want you to gain

approximately a pound a week? If that is the case then you would be considered

either under weight or right on track. Maybe focus on veggies and fruits for

carbs, but I wouldn't cut out bread all together if thats what you body is

telling you it wants, just try to limit it. How familiar is your OB with WLS

patients?

Thanks , I'm his first WLS patient. And of course when I told him he

immediately asked why I hadn't gone to see him before WLS. He could of helped

me lose the weight. I was like, " Sure you could of! " This was my mother's

OB/GYN so I decided to go with him. BIG MISTAKE!!!! lol Well I'm glad everyone

thinks that my weight gain is fine. I didn't think it was a lot but he was

making nervous about it.

Thanks again!!!!!

Shirley,

I'm sorry your doc is giving you a hard time. I'm at 25 weeks and

have gained 19-20. I had an appt with my OB yesterday and he didn't

say anything about it. Not that I asked, mind you. I didn't want to

make a big deal out of it, but I figured that if he was concerned, he

would say something. The good news is that we have a tool to lose the

weight after the baby comes, and it's for a good cause! Try not to

let your doc get to you!
