NSAIDs contraindications

Acetaminophen (Tylenol) has a label warning against long-term use. I've been

plagued by headaches all my life. Once long ago I was using tylenol a lot,

stupidly ignoring that warning, and I had a horrible reaction, where I was

really woozy and couldn't walk without falling down from dizziness. This

took several hours to subside, and I haven't touched the stuff since.

I don't recall whether it's on the label/insert or I read it elsewhere, but

long-term use can lead to irreversible liver damage. This is definitely a

red flag regarding mito. I have hepatic steatosis (fatty liver) and I

believe that is related to my MSL / MERRF. One has caused (or at least

exacerbated?) the other two, or perhaps all were caused by something else

underlying. My latest guess is that my genetic MERRF was exacerbated by

environmental triggers, but who knows?

Separate question: My current neuro (who knows full well about mito) has

prescribed for my headaches, 800 mg. ibuprofen (four standard pills) three

times a day. ASIDE from GI complications (which I don't have, but obviously

hope to avoid), does anyone know of mito contraindications for this rather

large ibuprofen dosage? It seemed to help somewhat for the first week or so,

but now I'm having new worse headache symptoms, so I'm not sure I'll be

staying with this regimen.

P.S. Friendly reminder: please have mercy on us email-digest members, and

occasionally snip off unnecessary trailers of replies to replies. By the

way, it also wouldn't hurt to change the " Subject: " when replies have gone

on to a new issue. Thanks in advance.
