Guest guest
Any advice for someone who's going to visit Dr. H for the first time? We are going to NY to see her on April 8th. My son is 4 1/2 and has not been diagnosed with RSS, but his endo " thinks " he is RSS. We are going to Dr. H to see what she thinks. And if he is RSS, we want to make we are doing everything we can to help our son on. Thanks, Amy -mom to on, age 4 1/2, Probably has RSS
Guest guest
Amy, I will miss you by one day at Dr. H's office (we have an appointment on April 9th.) Anyway, as you may already know be prepared for a long wait at her office. A 9:00am appointment, usually means you get in to see her anywhere from 11:00am to 1:00pm. But when you finally get in, it is worth it. Our first appt. was about an hour and a half long! Our follow-up visits are usually 45 minutes long. So, bring food, drinks, and toys! The waiting room is terrible, so we always wait outside in the hallway (there are benches out there). There is also a coffee shop where you can get drinks and snacks. I am not sure if there is a cafeteria, but probably there is since it is a hospital. If you are driving, there is valet parking for the garage which is helpful. It usually costs around $20 to park (and you can write this off for tax purposes). Once inside, Dr. H is very thorough. She is great with children and very direct with the parents. I would definitely suggest that you write down all of your questions, this way you don't forget them. We've been going every three months for three years and we still bring our list of questions every time. As far as what type of medical info. to bring. I would make sure you had a list heights, weights and head circum since on was born. I would also bring copies lab work done, any surgery follow-up reports, your son's NICU paperwork (if applicable),etc. Good luck, Alison > Any advice for someone who's going to visit Dr. H for the first > time?
