delayed stomach emptying test

To have one or not - that this the question. My son, Zack, is 8 yrs. and 5 mos.

old. He is " about " 50 " and 50 lbs. On his basketball team and in his class, he

is right in the mid-range for heights for second graders. As you can see, I

don't go crazy w/ exact nos., nor do I do the metric stuff. I do what I can.

He is on GH and pericactin. Sometimes we take him off the periactin just to see

what happens but we then go back on it. This time, Zack asked to be put back on

it because he wants to eat more. I loved that one. Anyway, he seems to have

normal bowel movements and other functions. He is rarely sick and so a great

kid. Always so happy, active and best of all for me - very affectionate. What

has led some folks to have the stomach emptying tests? Zack does get hungry,

with or without pericatin. He does eat 3 meals a day and snacks in between. He

doesn't complain of any stomach pain. If he is growing and progressing well,

should I have this test done? If so, why? What other " issues " / signs should I

look for? Thanks to all.
