I actually did not spot but had steady bleeding through my 2nd trimester.

I gained about 35 lbs, and have gotten about 5 of it off. I am working my a**

off trying to get it off too! LOL

But, honestly worst case scenario and it doesn't come off all I have to do is

look at my little man and I know it was worth it!

I know how scary it is to spot. I did alot too and was scared since I had had

2 previous MC but I am not 27.4 weeks and loving it. I have eaten badddd

things and have gained 30 pounds. I know I will get it off after, I will work

really hard. I had not made it to goal yet when I got pregnant, I was still

needing to lose 70 plus pounds. They do say alot of them do not gain much though

with proper eating and staying away from the junk and I have read several say it

comes right off for them. So good luck with everything and rest that tired

body.

Hi Everyone,

I haven't posted in about a month and half, since I first posted

telling you all about my various fertility issues, WLS and miracle

pregancy..

Well, today I am officially 12 wks + 2 days pregnant and have my

first official prenatal visit today. Tommorrow I have my nuchal

translucency ultrasound.

The last month and half have been a real rollercoaster for me. I

have had three ultrasounds already due to spotting. Everything has

been fine on the u/s, but every time I spot (which is about every

week or so), my heart does flipflops for sure. Even being an RN and

knowing some women spot, it is very unnerving and frightening every

time it happens. Add to this the fact that my Dad has been in

hospital three times in the past two months very ill and that my

hubby had his RNY last week (Yippee!!!), life has been very

interesting. I have noticed a correlation at times with the spotting

and me doing more activities or a stretch of shifts too...In fact

before Dave's surgery, I did a stretch of 7 shifts in a row and then

bled again after that. So, I know my body is telling me something. I

just hope I don't end up on bedrest, but will do anything and

everything to see Jr through the next 6 months.

I have a few questions for you post op Mommies...

1. Any of you spot as well?

2. How much weight did you gain? How quickly did it come off post

partum?

- I am having a hard time wrapping my head around gaining weight

after working so hard to get it off...I initially lost weight due to

morning sickness but have gained about 4 lb or so so far. My surgeon

said that the avg WLS pt gains about 15 or so lb and loses it in the

first six or so weeks pp. How does that jive with your personal

experiences?

3. The dreaded constipation...got so bad that I actually had to

disempact myself one day about 2 weeks ago. My hubby had to get me a

Fleet, which finally worked. Since then, I have gone off my

flintstones and have just taken prenatal. I was also told I could

take lactulose 15-30 ml up to three times per day. I did the

lactulose twice a day for almost a week, but then started bleeding

again vaginally. The constipation has been better, and I have only

needed to take the lax twice in the past two weeks...Any body have

any thoughts or words of wisdom?

Thanks for listening and I look forward to hearing your responses.

Hugs,

VBG May 6/03 - 104 lb til Jr came along. EDC Nov 10/04

Here are some answers to your questions.

I spotted when I first got pregnant with my little 28 week peanut. I was put on

bedrest and it stopped. It was very scary and happened quite a few times. I

noticed as you did the spotting ocurred with more activity.

I haven't gained any weight. I have lost 20+ pounds. I had my open rny 2 years

ago in march.

As far as constipation....I hate that! I drink water, take 2 docusate stool

softeners each day and benefiber in some juice once a day. This keeps me from

tears in the bathroom.

Hope these answers help. Good luck!
