Guest guest
Hi, I'm Isabelle the -Olivier's mom. We are from Quebec City (Canada) and hopefully I learned enough English (second langage) to be able to understand anything you talked about. So please, forgive me for the mistakes I could make in the writting. I watched the mails here for one month now and it's really helpful. I will explain you our little history. All along my pregnancy we know there was a problem. We didn't know what it was about, but the baby was not growing normally. I had about 25 ecographies and they finally decided to proceed a caesarian in my 36 weeks. The baby was 2 and a half pounds and 16 " (really small). At this time they really don't know what was the problem. After 2 months in the hospital he finally got is 5 pounds (enough to go out) but he was not able to eat normally (1 oz in 30 minutes every 3 hours). So the proceed to more tests and they keep him in the hospital. We finally choose to give him a G-Tube because it was evident he was not a good eater. At the same moment a doctor tought about rss and everyone is pretty sure is it (I'm sure but the genetician want to see him in May to be sure) He get out of the hospital just before Chrismas (yes 6 months after birth). After 2 months at home I'm taking some tricks and it's ok. We have good days and bad days (like a lot of you). He is on Zantac and Cisapride and I don't think it's really helpful because he's vomitting about 5 times a day. But we deal with it and he's taking pounds so... Now he's 8 months, 9 lbs and 23 " (He gain about 3 oz a week). Every mealtime (breakfast, lunch, dinner) he took a bit of solid food some times it goes well (1 tbl spoon of vege and fruits) but 9 times on 10 we give him this through his G-Tube + 3 oz of milk (preparation 28 cal/oz). And during the night we give him 9 oz of milk (1 oz per hour) through his tube. I really think he's always eating or sleeping but we need to do that for growing. Maybe in some months we will be able to play a lot more with him. Thanks averyone for your questions and answer I understand a lot more about my kid!
