I was wondering too...however the first line on the package is something to

the effect of kids with allergies or sensitivities shouldn't use it....so we

just avoid it. I've heard thera putty is GFCF.

My oldest son wants some badly, but after reading the back label I'd be

very nervous having it in my house, much less allowing my children to play

with it. Apparently it's an allergen, you're not suppose to get it on

your face, it stains clothes, carpet, furniture... sounds like nasty

stuff.

Don't do it!!! I bought Gooze last year for my sons Easter basket not even

thinking about it being gfcf cuz we had just recently started the diet and

once my son got a hold of it he was off the wall. It ended up all over his

face and in his mouth and that's when I realized that there was definitely

something in it he shouldn't have. Sorry.

Crayola Model Magic.. Is CMM ok? Or do I need to get after her to stop using

both?

SHould I not worry about it then? The only adverse reactions we've had is

just Josh's normal texture aversion and tactile defensiveness.. I've not seen

any change in behaviour after playing with it in therapy.. Just that he

doesn't want to touch it because it's sticky.. He does like the one with the

styrofoam beads in it.. that does give him a lot of sensory input I guess, he

doesn't mind that one nearly as much as the plain sticky ones.. Anyway, any

thoughts??

I have been calling for a couple of weeks and can't get anyone to return my

phone calls from the makers of Gooze (that play goo). Has anyone checked it

out to see if it is OK?

We've never had a problem with it. My children play with it at the kitchen

table, and have been doing so for over a year. It hasn't stained or ruined

anything, and no one has had any allergen reaction, including myself. I

can't even touch latex, yet this stuff has caused no problem.

That's great that you can use it without problems, but I'm not buying the

stuff until that label is changed. Silly putty will work just fine in

addition to the globby glue stuff I make for the kids.

Well you can always bring your son over and try it at my house!

OR go to Wal-Mart and try it out for a few minutes...

If a rash or behaviors start - throw it out. If nothing happens... you got

yourself a winner!

Take care!

A Jeffs mom

(who is a bit saucy again this morning! What is up with that?)

I think someone said the Crayola Modeling Magic was o.k.. I never verified

on the gooze though but my son definitely reacted to it. When I think back

and how he smeared it all over his face and tried to eat it, it makes me

laugh. I can't believe he did that.
