Guest guest
, is also a very healthy baby, aside from his three ear infections in nine months. He has one now actually. But, he hasn't had any colds, flu, fevers, etc. I attribute some of his healthyness (is that a word) to being on breast milk for the first 14 months or so. Sometimes it was mixed with another formula, but he was getting it. I also attribute the rest of it to the fact that he doesn not go to daycare and we don't take him into a crowded environment; i.e. mall, grocery stores, etc. Beside from being in New York I guess. He did get to go shopping then! ) But, was and still is to some degree very small and we where warned to keep him out of crowded places. also has restricted lungs, therefore he works extra hard to breathe due to lack of lung volume. So, any type of sickness would put him in the hosptial on oxygen most likely. So, that is why he is so sheltered. Poor little guy. But, I am also a Germaphobic. Yes, I have an OCD. I do not go to the extent of washing clothes and bed sheets everyday, but I do wash my hands before I do ANYTHING to . I don't even hold him without washing my hands. And, people that come to see him have to wash up, too. As soon as I come home from being out, I wash my hands. When Itake him to the doctor or hospital, I don't touch anything. Either the person that is with me will open doors, etc, or I use a sleeve, glove, etc. I know, a little over the top, but I did say I have an OCD! ) But, I also have a 4 year old that was breast fed for 17 months and the only thing he contends with is a couple allergy attacks a year at the most. My husband and I are also healthy. Thank God. Healthy, not sane! LOL! So, I am an advocate for breastfeeding of course! Hee, hee. It was a struggle to switch to all formula. I do believe that the daycare scene has a lot to do with kids being sick more often, too. Jodi R. 20 months, 14 lbs. 7 oz.
