Guest guest
What's the general rule on getting your hair colored (highlights) and getting your nails done while pregnant? I was so in awe with the first ultrasound and hearing the heartbeat that all questions went out the window! I'm definitely writing them down for next month! Thanks, Jeri WLS 12/10/02 EDD 12/06/

Guest guest
I would guess since nail polish and hair lightener do not pass into the mother's blood stream, it couldn't possibly get to the baby. Take notice though if you DO highlight your hair (I'm not talking all over hair color) sometimes the color isn't what you wanted. My blonde highlights had a greenish tint to them for weeks and it was the same color I had used for 10 years!! also, not knowing I was pregnant, I had a perm before I found out. It didn't take, turned very frizzy and I was mad at first b/c this hairdresser that I had used for 10 years never gave me a bad perm. When I found out I was preg, she siad, " AHA! thats the reason! " She also said being a hairdresser, she put color and perms on her clients all throughout both of her pg's
Guest guest
I have stayed away from hair coloring but still do my nails myself as long as I am in a well ventilated room. It may be safe to do your hair but I figure why take the chance so I decided to wait until after the baby is born as I can't breastfeed. Best wishes to you!!
