Guest guest
Corrina, Try not to get too upset, I think everything will work out fine. It is not good for you or your baby to be so overwrought. From what others have said they haven't seen long lasting problems when the " good foot " was accidentally set wrong. Try to cheer up, you only have 6 more weeks of 23/7. : ) > > Hi everyone, well I get to go to the man who set my son's shoes > wrong today to have them corrected, I already turned his good foot > back in thanks to some of the people here. Guest guest
Corrina, I think that his foot will be just fine. Our doc's office originally set Owen's bar up incorrectly too. His bar was set with both shoes out to about 60 degrees. I tried to say something when I saw what they were doing but it didn't help - I was told that they wanted them 'symmetrical'. Our doc had only just begun using the method and there were a lot of 'kinks' to be ironed out. Luckily for us, I found this group and was then able to monitor what was being done and make the necessary changes if and when needed. I was able to go through the files and photos section here and found a photo of a bar that was set correctly for left clubfoot and just eyeballed the angles from the photo. Everything worked out for us and I'm sure that it will for you too! Guest guest
Corrina, It couldn't hurt to email Dr. Ponseti to see if the good foot has been affected in a negative way. He will respond to all emails whether you are a patient of his or not. His email address is ignacio-ponseti@... Let us know how it all turns out. Guest guest
Corrina - did you say your baby was going to night's only in a matter of weeks? Just curious - I thought he'd only been in them a little while so far. How long has he been in the DBB? I'm betting his non cf is going to be just fine but let us know what you find out, OK? s. going to dr to chew him out,,,, Hi everyone, well I get to go to the man who set my son's shoes wrong today to have them corrected, I already turned his good foot back in thanks to some of the people here. I don't know if it is set right but it isn't turned out like it was. I didn't turn it completely straight left it out a little does that sound right? I just cannot say how upset I am about all this, he was just at his ortho Dr. 2 weeks ago, you would think he would have seen it and said somethen. I know he is so busy him and his partner are the only peds ortho Dr. in Toledo, but my son has been treated wrong because of either his or the other guys mistake, I an getting the original presciption today when I go there so I can see for myself who was in the wrong. Basically what they did was treat him like he had bilateral club feet instead of one. I am now so worried that his good foot is going to be a problem, will it go back to normal? He was like that for 6 weeks and he is supposed to be going to nights only in another 6 so will he be able to do that or will he have to wear them longer? Could this damage the foot to where it may need more than just turning the foot back to normal? I know you all are not dr.s but maybe someone out there can tell me if somethen like this has happened to them or somethen similar. I would sue the crap out of whoever made this mistake if I could, putting my little baby through all this and me as well, I am such a wreak because of all this. If I knew for sure that yes it will be fine then I would not worry so much, I thought of writting Dr. Ponseti to ask his opininon, does he do that or do you have to be a patient of his?Well anyways just had to vent a little and I thank you all again for the help you saved my son of another 6 weeks of miscorrection....
