Guest guest
I'm glad you were able to get to the doctors. laurie > Well I went to the dr for my numb tongue and heahache all on the right. by the next day when I saw the dr facxial paralysis(palsy) had started to begin on the right side. de said it would peak in 72 hours and be as bad as it was going to get. I have not lost all motion, there is still some nerve inervation, but it is difficult to eat and drink and pronouncing some words. So I just thought I would let you all know what it is. Thanks susan > > __________________________________________________ >
Guest guest
I had an episode where I lost sensation in one side of my face, from the forehead down to the chin. I was " feeling funny " in my face, and had gone to drink from a water fountain, and was able to pour very cold water on my face and the sensation stopped below my hairline, and started again under my chin - I had no sensation of cold or wet on my face or cheek on one side. I was stupid and didn't follow up on it, but lucky in that it started to resolve within a week, and I only have light facial paralysis (drooping mouth, numb lip and tongue, loss of sensation) once or twice for minutes at a time per week now. I've heard of Bell's palsy, but I do wonder if that " major " episode was caused by mito disease in some way - I certainly consider the intermittent episodes of neuropathy and loss of sensation I get now due to mito. BTW, the paralysis was on my " bad side " (left), where I get most, (and my most severe) symptoms. Take care, RH > > Well I went to the dr for my numb tongue and heahache all on the right. by the next day when I saw the dr facxial paralysis(palsy) had started to begin on the right side. de said it would peak in 72 hours and be as bad as it was going to get.
