Guest guest
Hello, , Welcome to the group and congratulations on your baby! Dr. son has been a wonderful resource to our group here in years past (she would occasionally post) and though she did not treat my child, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her based on correspondance that I've had with her. You could contact her via email and ask if she knows of any doctors that she would personally recommend who are closer to you (if distance is the issue) in Ontario. I would be willing to bet that she has the most experience treating clubfoot with the Ponseti method of all the doctors in your province though. Keep us posted on what you decide to do! Regards, & (3-16-00), left clubfoot switched to Ponseti method at 4 mo. old http://ponseticlubfoot.freeservers.com/ > > > Hi, > > I just found out about a week ago at the 19wk ultrasound that our > child will have bilateral CF. Guest guest
, someone posted recently that they are now using The Ponseti Method at Sick Kids in Toronto. I don't remember if it was posted here or over at the Clubfoot Canada site (http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/clubfootcanada/) but hopefully that person will chime in here soon! Guest guest
Welcome to the board, ! We are in Montreal and underwent some treatment with Dr. son. She is very good and follows the Ponseti protocol. Dr. Tim Carey in London would be another excellent choice. Dr. Pirani in Vancouver (co-head of the Uganda Clubfoot Project) could be arguably the best in Canada or is at least the one with the most experience and his patients love him. It's great that you are gathering more information. You can find a small group of Canadians at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/clubfootcanada/ . Most of them also post here. One of the parents on that board () is taking his son to Sick Kids in TO and has had a great experience so far. They appear to be doing the protocol to the T, but they do have the cast techs doing the manipulation and casting. Any more questions just ask or email us directly! & Emma Emma 18-10-99. Montreal, Canada moderately severe bilateral clubfoot 3 months unsuccessful local non-Ponseti casting pending surgery corrected by Dr. Ponseti with 3 casts & tenotomy out of FAB too early, just before 2 yrs old (loose ligaments) relapse, ATTT at 4 years old, doing great. http://www.vh.org/pediatric/patient/orthopaedics/clubfeet/emma.html Ponsetti method in Toronto or Ottawa? Hi, I just found out about a week ago at the 19wk ultrasound that our child will have bilateral CF. I live in the province of Ontario in Canada and have been researching the Ponsetti method. I note from Dr. Ponsetti's website that Dr. son in Kingston, Ontario is recommended as a Ponsetti practitioner. Does anyone else have any information about the availability of the Ponsetti method in Ottawa or Toronto? Any tips would be greatly appreciated, as I am really in the process of gathering as much information as possible right now. Thanks!
Guest guest
I myself am from ontario and my son sees Dr son in Kingston. It is a 3 hour drive one way for me but she is great and it is well worth the long day. Best of luck finding a doctor.
